Blue Dolphin Cichlid Stunning African Cichlid

The Blue Dolphin Cichlid (Cyrtocara moorii), also known as the Humphead Cichlid, is a majestic and peaceful African cichlid, prized for its vibrant blue coloration, streamlined body, and distinctive nuchal hump.

Native to Lake Malawi, this species is one of the most sought-after cichlids due to its unique appearance and gentle demeanour.

Unlike many other cichlids, the Blue Dolphin is relatively peaceful and does well in spacious aquariums with rock formations and open swimming spaces.

They are slow-growing, but as they mature, males develop a large hump on their head, making them even more striking.

Blue Dolphin cichlids prefer soft sandy substrates where they can sift for food.

•Tank Mates: Best with other peaceful to semi-aggressive African cichlids, such as Peacocks and Haps. Avoid aggressive Mbuna species.
