The convict cichlid is a freshwater fish native to Central America, also known as the zebra cichlid. The convict cichlids are incredibly hardy fish, to easy care, making it an ideal aquarium fish for beginner fish keepers. Convicts are also one of the easiest Cichlids to breed and they are excellent parents, vigorously defending their fry even from much larger fishes.
When buying a fish make sure you have done your research as fish require specific living conditions which include correct water parameters, adequate tank size, lighting and diet to ensure the health and well being of your fish.
