The Pakistani Loach (Botia almorhae), also known as the Yo-Yo Loach, is a lively and social bottom-dweller, named for its distinctive black and silver patterns that resemble “Y” and “O” shapes. Native to the slow-moving rivers of Pakistan, India, and Nepal, this species is prized for its playful nature, intelligence, and ability to control snail populations in freshwater aquariums.

Pakistani Loaches are highly active and best kept in groups of three or more, where they display fascinating social behaviors. They thrive in well-structured aquariums with hiding spots such as caves, driftwood, and plants. Due to their inquisitive and semi-aggressive nature, they are best suited for tanks with similarly sized, semi-aggressive tank mates.
