Hermit Crabs are very popular with children and regarded as a relatively low maintenance pet, however they do require specific housing requirements. These crustaceans are very clean and can become very friendly once they get to know you. Hermit Crabs tend to sleep during the day and play at night.
They are a tropical animal so require a humid environment. A sand base with a heat pad covering no more than 1/3 of the base of the tank is the best way to achieve this.

Hermit Crabs are social and live in large groups in the wild and are best kept in groups of three or more and with the right care your Hermit Crab can live up to approximately 15 years.
